Tatara Systems, an Acton-based provider of convergence products, will supply Tokyo-based NEC Corporation with its femtocell convergence solution for use in NEC software.
Femtocells, a small cellular base station designed for use in home or business environments, allow mobile operators to extend service coverage inside the home, eliminating the need for cellular towers.Â
Tatara will provide the femtocell software for NEC’s Home Gateway Solution, a package allowing mobile operators to deploy an end-to-end solution.Â
As part of the agreement, Tatara and NEC will also collaborate on end-to-end solution packaging, marketing, trials and deployments of NEC’s Home Gateway Solutions into target markets.
