Target Spends $6.5M On Future Marlborough Store Site

Target Corp. bought a 13-acre site on Route 20 in Marlborough, near Home Depot, for $6.5 million on Oct. 27, according to city officials.

The site was approved for a generic 130,000-square-foot store on Sept. 9. The store would be located on the other side of DiCenzo Blvd. from the Home Depot store.

Target, based in Minnesota, is holding off on building any new stores at the moment, according to the city.

The company already has a store in Marlborough on Donald Lynch Boulevard near the Solomon Pond Mall.

The seller of the Route 20 site was the Indian Development Corp. of Milford, which is headed by real estate executive and developer Howard A. Fafard.
