Worcester food manufacturer Table Talk Pies has named Isaac Long as its new president, effective immediately. He takes over for Harry Kokkinis, a third-generation leader of the company who will become executive chairman.
Table Talk was founded in 1924 by Kokkinis’s maternal grandfather and his business partner, both Greek immigrants.
Long has been in a relationship with Table Talk as a strategic advisor for several months, according to a Tuesday release from the company. He was most recently an operating partner at Truck 9 Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm in Boston. Prior to Truck 9, he led a family-owned agricultural business through a financial turnaround as CEO and CFO, according to the press release.
Long is a former aviator with the U.S. Navy and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School after leaving military service. His bachelor's degree, from North Dakota State University, is in speech communication, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Kokkinis will remain in an advisory role as executive chairman of the board of directors, according to the press release.
“While this is a major change, I do believe it is for the good of the company. As I have grown older, it has become clear to me that I need help in running the company. Just as my father needed help back in 2003 when I started working for Table Talk, now in 2023 I need help,” Kokkinis said in the press release. “Given his leadership skills, I believe that Isaac is the right person for the job. We have something special here at Table Talk, and we must work hard to maintain and nourish it. As a company we are not standing still, we are continuing to grow.”
