Galderma, the world’s largest independent dermatology company headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, announced Thursday a co-development and option-to-acquire agreement with Framingham-based medical device firm Sofregen Inc.
Galderma’s focus on biostimulator and hyaluronic acid fillers will utilize Sofregen’s pioneering silk technology and silk protein to add immediate volume restoration and provide structure that facilitates new tissue generation, according to the release.
Under the agreement, the companies will co-develop a portfolio of silk-based biostimulator fillers, but Galderma will have an exclusive option to acquire Sofregen’s Silk Voice, rights to products being co-developed by the parties, and ownership of Sofregen’s silk technology platform.
The potential purchase price was not disclosed.
