Americans of all ages are increasingly unhappy with their jobs. In fact, job satisfaction is at its lowest point in 20 years, according to the Conference Board.
The Conference Board surveyed 5,000 American households and 45 percent of respondents said they are currently satisfied with their jobs. That’s down from 61.1 percent in 1987, the first year the survey was conducted.
Widespread job dissatisfaction negatively affects employee behavior and retention, and 22 percent of respondents said they do not expect to be in their current jobs in a year.
