Summit Agency has launched a living-and-learning residential community for young adults with autism spectrum disorder, as well as related diagnoses, dubbed Summit Campus.
The majority of its residents attend Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, although the program also supports those pursuing vocational training, according to the nonprofit announcement on Jan. 18
Next to Summit Campus is Summit Health and Wellness Center, another piece of Summit Agency’s expansion. Open to the general community, the center serves as a resource for children and young adults experiencing mental health issues.
“As challenging as it has been to get this program up and running, the joy and satisfaction in seeing how much growth our residents have achieved in such a short time affirms the importance of a program like ours in the Worcester community,” said Nikki Koppel, director of residence life at Summit Campus, in a statement.
The program is accepting applications for fall.
