A subsidiary of a Sudbury-based machining tools and solutions supplier has hired a new COO and completed the installation of seven additive manufacturing laboratories across the U.S.
Methods 3D, Inc., a subsidiary of Methods Machine Tools, announced late last month that it installed new additive manufacturing labs in each Methods Machine Tools technology center in the U.S. The labs have 18 printers -- including direct metal printing and stereolithography -- and are equipped with post-processing equipment, such as electrical discharge and CNC machining. At the labs, manufacturing professionals can explore ways to design and make components using 3D technology as well as conventional machining and automation, according to a press release.
The labs are located in Methods Machine Tools’ technology centers in Sudbury; Detroit, MI; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Phoenix, Ariz.; San Francisco, Calif.; and Los Angeles, Calif. Each location is fully staffed with a sales team, application engineers and service technicians, according to the release.
James Hanson, formerly the director of corporate development at Methods Machine Tools, also joined Methods 3D as its new COO.
