Sturbridge has launched a Saturday tourism shuttle on a trial basis to run among key points in town thanks to a $12,000 grant from the Sturbridge Tourist Association.
The shuttle, which was announced by the town, launched Aug. 18 and will run through Sept. 22. It will run each Saturday from 2 to 11 p.m.
Called the Sturbridge Express, the shuttle will offer a trial run for the Sturbridge Business Advisory Group, which represents restaurants, hotels and other businesses in town. If the pilot program proves successful, the group hopes to extend the service throughout the town.
The Sturbridge Express, with two 12-passenger vans, will run between 12 stops:
- Publick House Historic Inn
- Sturbridge Comfort Inn & Suites
- Holiday Inn Express
- Sturbridge Host Hotel & Conference Center
- B.T.'s Smokehouse
- Wight Farm
- U.S. Post Office
- La Quinta Inn & Suites
- Cumberland Farms
- Micknuck's Fresh Market
- Old Sturbridge Inn & Reeder Family Lodges
- Hampton Inn
