Study: Coffee brews up productive workers

According to a recent study, 37 percent of the American workforce say they can’t even get dressed for work without their first cup of coffee.

The survey, conducted by Staples, was undertaken in advance of National Coffee Day that will be celebrated on Tuesday. The survey found that nearly half of American workers consume at least three cups of coffee each day. In fact, 44 percent said they can’t have a conversation or commute without coffee, according to Staples, while over 57 percent of people said they need at least two cups of coffee to feel productive and alert.

The Staples Advantage Workplace Index showed that millennials in particular value office perks, such as coffee at the office, and break time.
