Maynard-based Stratus Technologies Inc. and Shanghai Hi-tech Control Systems Co. (HITE) are expanding their 10-year partnership, the companies said Wednesday.
HITE will use Stratus' next generation software solution, everRun Express, to deliver servers to the Chinese market under the brand name of H&i Server. “This comes at a time when the explosion of auto ownership is driving the need for significant investments in always-on transportation infrastructure across the country,” the statement said.
HITE has customers throughout China in manufacturing, energy, chemicals, metallurgy, mining, transportation and other sectors, the statement said. Installations already using Stratus' platform solutions include the traffic monitoring and management system that was installed for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and the 2010 Shanghai World Expo traffic control and management systems.
The latest agreement “represents a significant milestone in our relationship with HITE, which started originally with our platform solutions and has progressed to software," Stratus President and CEO David Laurello said.
