The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. LLC has voluntarily returned $269,000 to the Massachusetts Medicaid Program after it inadvertently overcharged the system.
The Qunicy-based grocery chain discovered during a 2006 audit that it failed to report the lowest price it accepted for certain prescriptions at its pharmacies between July and December 2005. Stop & Shop notified MassHealth in March 2007, and the Attorney General’s office confirmed the correction.
