State Tech Associations To Merge
The Burlington-based Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council Inc. and Network Communications Council Inc. of Waltham plan to merge to form a larger business association aimed at aiding innovation and entrepreneurship in the state's technology sector.
The combined organization will retain the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council name. It will be able to help companies in the communications, networking and software industries grow and will also take aim at emerging segments like cloud computing, digital games and robotics.
In a statement, the merger was praised by business leaders and Gov. Deval Patrick, who said, "this partnership is exactly what we need to see more of. Collaboration and focus in the tech sector and elsewhere is the way to meet today's economic challenges."
The new, larger organization will host the MassTLC Awards Banquet Thursday evening in Boston.
