In January, the state’s IT job market suffered a 6.8 percent decline, leaving an estimated 1,380 job openings.
The news came from SkillPROOF‘s IT job report for January, which blamed Connecticut’s current downturn in IT jobs on nationwide economic pressures. But despite the decrease in jobs, the short-term outlook is positive as the majority of employers have posted more open positions than they closed.
Connecticut’s tech sector hit a job-opening high point in November of 2007, with more than 1,600 job openings, before sliding to its current level.
