Commonwealth Medicine, the consulting and operations division of UMass Medical School in Worcester, announced on Thursday its new chief of staff, Catherine “Katie” Mick, who was formerly the undersecretary for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
In her most recent role as EOHHS undersecretary, Mick implemented strategic policy initiatives with public and private agencies during the COVID-19 crisis, according to Commonwealth Medicine’s press release.
“I look forward to Katie’s insights as we navigate the changes in our post-pandemic world,” said CWM Executive Vice Chancellor Lisa Colombo, in a press release.
Mick has also worked at Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children in Canton and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and taught classes at Boston College. She earned a master’s degree from Boston College and a bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester.
Mick will be taking the place of Kimberly Haddad, who was Commonwealth Medicine's chief of staff until fall of 2019.
Commonwealth Medicine works with public and private agencies to help individuals benefit from Medicaid and other human services.
