After a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, Worcester festival stART on the Street is planning to return for its 18th iteration in September, event organizers announced on Wednesday.
The new event will be part of Creative Hub Worcester’s programming, and will include a leadership expansion.
“Over nearly two decades, the festival grew exponentially - in popularity and size, as well as demand on the coordinating team,” said stART Director Nikki Erskine, in a statement. “This opportunity to partner with the Creative Hub presented an opportunity to reduce pressure on stART coordinators, and to preserve stART’s operations and legacy.”
Going forward, the event’s leadership will include current directors Erskine and Tina Zlody, as well as Creative Hub’s founders, Stacy Lord and Laura Marotta.
Lord co-founded and helped manage stART for over a decade; Marotta has previously assisted with the event’s artist management.
The festival was founded in 2002. Further details about the September event will be announced in the coming months.
