Staples to acquire Tampa printer supplier

The Framingham headquarters of office supply retailer Staples
Framingham office supply retailer Staples is set to acquire a Florida document imaging technology dealer.
The transaction with Tampa-based DEX Imaging was announced Monday. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Little information was offered in the press release.
On the company’s website, DEX Imaging calls itself the country’s largest independent dealer of printers and copiers.
Staples CEO Sandy Douglas said in a statement Staples will continue to strategically invest in companies to bring value to customers via enhanced products and services.
“DEX Imaging has created strong relationships with their customers through exemplary service and tremendous industry knowledge in office technology,” Douglas said.
The transaction comes less than a month after Staples completed a $500-million merger with Illinois-based wholesale office supplier Essendant.
