Staples, Inc. of Framingham announced Thursday that Jeff Hall has been appointed chief administrative officer and vice chairman, a new role at the company.
Hall joins Staples from SunEdison Semiconductor, where he served as chief financial officer and executive vice president of finance and administration for the past three years. While at SunEdison Semiconductor, he oversaw a successful initial public offering and company transformation.
He will be paid an annual base salary of $800,000 with bonus stock options that could total more than $4.4 million, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In his new role, Hall will oversee finance, strategic planning, corporate development, investor relations, real estate, customer service and high-growth markets at Staples, and will report directly to President and CEO Shira Goodman.
Staples is re-branding and pursuing new market opportunities following a failed merger attempt with Office Depot last year.
