Staples Inc. of Framingham has released a report touting its corporate responsibility in 2007.
The “Staples Soul Report” says it conducted more than 375 social accountability audits at factories that make Staples brand products. It also expanded its eco-friendly product offerings, launched a national retail electronics recycling program and modified its truck fleet to keep them at slower speeds, saving more than 540,000 gallons of diesel.
Staples said it also gave more than $16.5 million to charitable causes, 27 percent more than the previous year.
