The parent company of Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester and MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham has reached an agreement with a Philadelphia-based insurer.
Under the agreement between Dallas hospital parent company Tenet Healthcare and Cigna Corp., Cigna members covered under its commercial health plans will have uninterrupted in-network access to Tenet providers, including hospitals and outpatient centers.
Further, all Tenet facilities will remain in-network providers for Medicare beneficiaries insured by a Cigna-HealthSpring Medicare Advantage plan, Tenet announced Tuesday.
In addition to St. Vincent Hospital and MetroWest Medical Center, Tenet is the operator of Natick’s Leonard Morse Hospital, three Central Massachusetts urgent care centers and four imaging centers.
Tenet Chairman and CEO Ron Rittenmeyer called the agreement the right outcome for patients, employees and Tenet-area communities for Cigna members.
“We remain committed to providing them with the trusted, compassionate care they deserve,” he said.
