St. Vincent Hospital has named Steven MacLauchlan president and CEO, as former CEO Erik Wexler continues in his role as CEO for the Northeast region of Tenet Health Care, according to a statement issued Monday.
MacLauchlan, 58, was most recently president of Norton Audubon Hospital, a 432-bed hospital in Louisville, Ky. He formerly served as CEO of Pottstown Memorial Medical Center in Pottstown, Pa.
“Massachusetts is a very mature healthcare market on the cutting edge of technology, research and reform. I am eager to immerse myself in the culture here and look for opportunities to improve the clinical and service capabilities in the region,” MacLauchlan said in a statement.
Wexler led St. Vincent as CEO for two years while also leading the New England region for Vanguard Health Systems, but will now concentrate solely on his role as CEO of Tenet’s Northeast Region, according to Jennifer Manley, a spokeswoman for the hospital. Tenet acquired Vanguard last year, and as a result, Wexler is managing a larger territory that includes Chicago as well as New England, Manley said.
“Saint Vincent is on solid footing, which makes the transition to a new leader perfect timing. Steve has all the qualities we are looking for and will ensure that Saint Vincent’s continues to provide the very best care and service to the community,” Wexler said in a statement.
