Despite harboring some resentment for a particular football team, Framingham’s Springdale Beer will begin distributing in the Philadelphia area.
Springdale, the offshoot of Framingham-based Jack’s Abby Brewing specializing in barrel-aged and sour beers, announced the distribution launch through Pennsylvania wholesaler Shangy’s on Wednesday.
The City of Brotherly Love will see Springdale’s core beers, including Pearly Wit, Brigadeiro Breakfast Stout and Good N’ You New England IPA.
Other limited, small bottle runs of Springdale’s barrel-aged sour beers will continue throughout 2018.
“Even considering recent sporting events, Philadelphia remains one of our favorite cities, especially for its vibrant beer and food scene,” said Springdale General Manager Joe Connolly. “We believe that the vibrant, expressive and accessible beers we brew will be an exciting addition to that scene, and will continue to support our line of Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers.”
According to Springdale, this marks the third state where it will distribute beer, including Massachusetts and New York. The brewery only began distributing in January.
