State Sen. Karen Spilka (D-Ashland) recently returned from a trade mission to Finland.
The trip was designed to promote the Massachusetts health care and life science industries in Europe and help Massachusetts companies get access to European Union research and development funding.
Spilka joined Sen. President Therese Murray, Sen. Robert Hedlund (R-Weymouth) and a group of doctors, researchers, representatives of companies including Natick’s Boston Scientific, and staff from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative and the University of Massachusetts.
Spilka said she does not use state money for travel.
