Northborough retail technology developer Spencer Technologies announced Tuesday it has finalized its acquisition of a New Hampshire firm.
The company’s acquisition of Dover, N.H.’s Certified Retail Solutions will expand Spencer’s technology and hardware offerings.
According to Certified Retail Solutions’ website, it has worked with retailers Yankee Candle, F.Y.E. and Carter’s. The company in 2015 opened a 30,000-square-foot facility in Dover in addition to another nearby facility in the same town.
Spencer Technologies will now take on 66 employees as part of the merger and will begin offering its services to eight new countries this year, the company said.
Also planned are three new distribution and staging centers, along a facility in Europe.
In a statement in the company’s press release, Spencer CEO David Strickler said traditional retail stores are challenged by online commerce.
“If retailers can rely on a single vendor to service all their in-store technology needs, we can serve as a trusted partner and extension of their team, allowing them to devote more resources to navigating their business through this challenging period,” Strickler said.
