Worcester addiction treatment provider Spectrum Health Systems has hired industry veteran Sherry Ellis as its new chief operating officer, filling the role formerly held by CEO Kurt Isaacson.
Spectrum on Monday announced Ellis will oversee all of Spectrum’s program operations after the position became vacant in July. Isaacson was tapped as CEO after Spectrum’s longtime chief executive, Charles Faris, retired.
Ellis has more than 20 years of experience working in clinical and operational roles at both acute-care hospitals and nonprofit organizations. She was most recently vice president of crisis and rehabilitation services at South Shore Mental Health in Quincy.
Ellis spent the early years of her career as a counselor, therapist and behavioral health consultant before joining the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, where she worked for many years in a variety of administrative positions.
“With her extensive background in mental health and demonstrated management expertise, Sherry will play a key role in helping expand our delivery platform to include fully integrated behavioral healthcare services,” Isaacson said.
