Spectrum Health Systems in Worcester, one of the largest human services nonprofits in Central Massachusetts, has promoted long-time Kristin Nolan as its new chief operating officer.
A Spectrum employee of more than 20 years, Nolan began her career at the provider as a clinician in 2000. Most recently, she served as chief behavioral health officer, managing Spectrum’s outpatient, adolescent, and medication for opioid use disorder services, according to a Tuesday press release from the nonprofit.
“Kristin is a visionary leader who has consistently demonstrated her ability to drive positive change at Spectrum,” Kurt Isaacson, Spectrum president and CEO, said in the release. “Her deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and her passion for our mission make her the ideal person to guide us into the future. I am excited to see the new heights Spectrum will reach under Kristin’s leadership as we expand our services and transform lives.”
Nolan replaces Sherry Ellis, who held the role from late 2016 until 2021. The COO position had remained vacant until Nolan’s appointment. Ellis is now CEO of Fall River addiction services provider SSTAR, according to the organization’s website.
Spectrum is the sixth largest human services nonprofit in Central Massachusetts when ranked by total revenue for the most recent fiscal year available by the WBJ Research Department. With 681 local employees, Spectrum had accumulated $128.52 million in revenue with $132.30 million in assets in the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2023.Â
Nolan earned master’s degrees at Southern New Hampshire University and Anna Maria College in Paxton, according to her LinkedIn profile.Â
