Spectrum Internet, a communications technology provider affiliated with Charter Communications, Inc., has doubled the starting download speed of its internet service from 100 to 200 Mbps throughout its Central Mass. locations, according to a Tuesday press release.
The towns to receive this improved service include: Auburn, Barre, Boylston, Brookfield, Charlton, Dudley, East Brookfield, Grafton, Holden, Leicester, Millbury, Millville, Northborough, Northbridge, North Brookfield, Oxford, Paxton, Rutland, Southborough, Southbridge, Spencer, Sturbridge, Sutton, Upton, Uxbridge, Webster, Westborough, West Boylston, West Brookfield, and Worcester.
Spectrum’s goal is to offer 200 Mbps starting speeds in all markets in its 41-state service area in 2022, and nearly 95% of the company’s service area currently has met that goal, according to Spectrum.
“Beginning today, we are doubling starting speeds for millions of customers, providing even more speed for streaming, remote work, and staying connected with family and friends — with no modem fees, data caps, or contracts,” said Carl Leuschner, senior vice president of internet & voice products at Charter Communications, Inc., in the press release.
