Specialized lawyers needed
Lawyers and legal professionals with specialized expertise in areas like intellectual property, litigation, corporate and security and bankruptcy law are in high demand at the nation's law firms, according to a new study by legal staffing firm Robert Half Legal.
Half identified the following five areas as "in-demand positions" for 2008: First-year associates, particularly those who finished in the top 20 percent of their class or possess experience within a specific practice area; patent attorneys, especially with trial experience in IP, IT, biotech and health care; in-house attorneys with a regulatory compliance background; litigation paralegals; and intellectual property secretaries with trademark or patent experience.
The report is based on an analysis of job orders and placements nationwide.
