Southern-style seafood chain to open in former Worcester Mexican restaurant space

The Southern-style seafood chain Hook & Reel is coming to Worcester as its second Massachusetts location.
Hook & Reel has taken the former Lincoln Street location of Plaza Azteca, a Mexican restaurant, and before that, a Bickford's, in the Lincoln Plaza retail complex.
The company hasn't yet given an opening date, with renovations to the restaurant underway.
Hook & Real, which is based in New York, opened its first restaurant in 2013 in Maryland. It has a dozen locations today, but has more than 40 more in development in scattered locations across the country, primarily in Maryland, New Jersey and New York.
The chain's lone Massachusetts location today is on the North Shore in Revere.
