Janet E. Garon, executive vice president and COO of Southbridge Savings Bank, is retiring after 33 years with the bank.
Garon started as a teller at Southbridge in 1976. She became head of consumer lending two years later and became executive vice president in 1993.
Garon’s community involvement includes serving as a volunteer with Tri-Valley Meals on Wheels, a board member of the Blanchard Means Foundation and a director of the United Way of Southbridge, Sturbridge & Charlton, Rehabilitative Resources Inc. and The Last Green Valley.
She is also a Massachusetts Republican state committee woman.
