Fitchburg has a new cannabis dispensary. On Wednesday, Green Meadows Farm LLC opened its second cannabis dispensary in Massachusetts at 50 Whalon St. in Fitchburg.
An official grand opening will happen on Jan. 14, according to the Wednesday announcement from Green Meadows.
Green Meadows opened its first dispensary less than two years ago in Southbridge. At that location, Green Meadows produces, cultivates, and sells its cannabis. The company got its medical license for the Southbridge location and has military veteran discounts. The company also received a license in Connecticut.
Green Meadows is owned and operated by descendants of World War II General George S. Patton. The company was founded on the Patton family’s commitment to veteran advocacy, community service, and organic agriculture.
“We have seen so many people, especially veterans, who have seen their quality of life improve from using our cannabis products to better manage various issues from PTSD and pain to insomnia and anxiety without the need for addictive opioids and prescription medications,” Christian Zawacki, Green Meadows CEO, said in a press release. “We’re so happy to be bringing our organic, sustainably produced cannabis to Fitchburg where we can expand the access of this natural remedy to more people who can benefit.”
