Southborough Group Gets $12M MassDevelopment Bond

MassDevelopment has issued a $12 million bond to fund a new day care center building and other capital projects at New England Center for Children in Southborough, which provides services for children with autism.

The project is expected to create 10 permanent jobs and 11 temporary construction jobs.

The MassDevelopment bond is tax-exempt and offers the organization low-cost funding for the project. RBS Citizens National Association purchased the bond.

The center serves students between ages 2 and 22 as well as a small group of adults. It currently serves 230 people at its Southborough campus and also works with 108 students in public schools in Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut and New Hampshire. In addition, it offers consultation and staff training to other schools and has developed a curriculum for teaching children with autism.
