Southborough Firm Wins China Contract

A Chinese manufacturer of electric vehicles has chosen Southborough’s Sevcon Inc. to supply motor controllers for its new light truck, Sevcon announced.

The Chinese firm, AUCMA Electric Vehicle Co. Ltd., said the controller made by Sevcon, a multinational firm whose U.S. operations are based in Southborough, is “perfectly suited” for the truck, which will be aimed at municipal fleets in both domestic and overseas markets. Sevon’s product allows AUCMA to tailor the vehicle motor’s performance to any type of truck. AUCMA lauded Sevcon’s customer support and its efforts to ensure the product will “work effectively across our applications.”
