A Maryland-based residential solar provider, Astrum Solar, has leased 5,000 square-feet of space in Hopkinton, according to the commercial real estate firm involved in the deal.
Astrum is leasing the industrial space at 114 South St. in Hopkinton.
O’Brien Commercial Properties of Marlborough brokered the deal for Astrum, while Greater Boston Properties represented the landlord. According to the Hopkinton Assessor’s office, O’Brien & Co. of West Concord owns the property.
Astrum, according to O’Brien, is one of the largest aggregators of solar renewable energy credits, which are sold to utility companies to help comply with government mandates to use renewable energy power sources.
