Solar co. feels heat of rising losses

Marlboro-based Evergreen Solar Inc. posted a fourth quarter 2006 loss of $5.47 million compared to a $5.04 million loss a year ago.
Evergreen makes solar power products.
The company said despite the widening loss, revenue nearly tripled in the fourth quarter to $32.4 million compared to $11.6 million in the fourth quarter of last year, according to the company's U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings.
The company's net loss for 2006 was $26.7 million, compared to $17.3 million in 2005.
