The software storage market had “solid growth” in the first quarter of 2010, buoyed by the financial performance of Hopkinton-based EMC Corp., according to Framingham’s International Data Corp.
IDC’s analysis of first quarter financial data showed that the software storage sector grew by 7 percent compared to a year earlier, but was down about 1.6 percent from the previous quarter.
EMC, the largest company in the sector with a 23 percent market share, saw 13 percent revenue growth in the first quarter. IBM, which has a large complex in Littleton, posted 11 percent revenue growth while CA Technologies, which has offices in Framingham, posted a 7 percent improvement in revenues.
