SoCal Installation For AMSC

Devens-based American Superconductor Corp. will provide key equipment to Southern California Edison's "Circuits of the Future" project.
AMSC will supply the project with a pad-mounted distribution VAR compensator. The system provides power compensation to maintain constant voltage and also guards against voltage "sags and flicker."
The Southern California Edison project will provide 1,420 residences and businesses with power. AMSC expects to deliver the equipment this summer.
Financial terms of the order were not disclosed.
