The Worcester chapter of the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) will present a new award during the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce New England Business Expo in October.
The award will be called the Joe Cohen Worcester Retailer of the Year award, and will be presented to a Worcester-based retail business “that understands the importance of giving back to the community.”
Cohen owned Henry’s Paint & Wallpaper and was extensively involved in the community through a wide variety of religious, social, charity and business organizations.
Cohen was also a SCORE counselor.
SCORE is part of the U.S. Small Business Administration. It provides free counseling to start-ups and small businesses.
