Framingham-based market research firm IDC is projecting that spending on information technology by small and medium-sized businesses will increase by 5.5 percent between this year and 2014.
That’s a slower pace than previously reported by IDC. The company said small and medium-sized businesses were hit harder by the recession than previously thought.
The firm said worldwide small businesses spending on IT will grow to nearly $629.3 billion in 2014.
“Despite the $17.4 billion spending increase expected in 2010, SMB IT spending levels will not return to 2008 levels until 2011,” IDC said.
