Skin Laser Gets Canadian OK

A skin treatment laser made by Wayland-based Candela Corp. has been approved for use in Canada.

The carbon dioxide laser is already in use in the United States, Europe and Australia.

Practitioners can use the laser for various cosmetic procedures, including the treatment of acne scars and wrinkle reduction.

For its most recently completed quarter, Candela reported a net loss of $465,000 on revenue of $29.8 million. For the same quarter a year earlier, the company reported a net loss of $2.1 million on revenue of $38.4 million.
