Six senators chosen for DeLuca investigation

Senate leaders tapped six colleagues to recommend whether Sen. Louis DeLuca should be punished for asking a trash hauler to threaten his granddaughter's husband.

The new Bipartisan Committee of Review will meet for the first time on Tuesday.

The panel includes Democrats Martin Looney of New Haven, Donald DeFronzo of New Britain, and Andrea Stillman of Waterford. The three Republicans are Andrew Roraback of Goshen, William Nickerson of Greenwich and Anthony Guglielmo of Stafford Springs.

Looney, the Senate's majority leader, and Roraback, a Republican leader, co-chair the committee.

Both said the committee needs to meet and determine what information it will use in its investigation. They did not rule out calling witnesses.
