Simonds International opens customer-focused S.C. facility

Fresh off of a merger an Oregon company, Fitchburg wood saw manufacturer Simonds International has opened a new facility in South Carolina.

The location, in Florence, will be customer focused, the company said in a Monday press release, featuring a new industry training center and state-of-the-art filing room to help train customers on the new equipment.

The facility will serve as a distribution center for southeastern U.S., the company said. 

The company last Thursday announced a merger with Oregon-based Burton Saw creating a new business entity – Wood Fiber Holdings, Inc. 

Last May, Simonds announced a similar merger with Scies B.G.R., a Canadian circular and band saw blades manufacturer.
