Siemens affiliate partner takes on wire-rod mill revamp in China
Chinese company Zenith Steel has signed a contract with Primetals Technologies to revamp a complete wire-rod outlet, London-based Primetals Technologies said Tuesday.
Primetals is a joint venture between Siemens AG — a German conglomerate with operations in Worcester — and Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd.
The mill, located in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, will feature increased cooling capacity and faster operational speed with it reopens in early 2016, Primetals said. Primetals is also providing electric and automation upgrades for the mill.
