A 38,676-square-foot mixed-use building has been sold to a corporation linked to the owner of a Shrewsbury transportation company for $4.3 million.
ME Realty LLC of Shrewsbury made the purchase of the property located at 697 Hartford Turnpike on Nov. 28, according to Worcester District Registry of Deeds records. ME Realty is owned by Ron Ernenwein, the owner of AA Transportation in Shrewsbury.
AA operates a fleet of charter buses and limousines and provides school bus services to a number of local school districts and institutions, according to the company’s website. The company didn’t return calls seeking comment on Monday.
The company has 650 employees in Central Massachusetts, making it the 65th largest employer in the region, when ranked by local employees, according to data provided to the WBJ Research Department.
The property was acquired by its previous owner, Hartford Turnpike LLC of Shrewsbury, for $1.03 million in 2011, according to Town of Shrewsbury property records. The Town gave the property a tax assessment value of $1.6 million in fiscal 2024.
Hartford Turnpike LLC is managed by Neil Harvey, president of Harvey Remodeling, a Shrewsbury-based company operating a design center, among several businesses at the location.
The company will continue to have to operate from the location, said Sheila Fitzgerald, director of design and marketing at Harvey, when reached by email.
Andrew Murray of A. Murray Real Estate in Worcester represented the buyer in the transaction, while Nishan Papazian and Tyler DeWolfe of Greater Boston Commercial properties in Northborough represented the seller.
