Georgia-based Pediatric Services of America Inc. (PSA) has acquired the Shrewsbury and Newton offices of AmeriCare At Home, a provider of home-based health care services, and a division of North Andover-based AmeriCare Inc.
The acquisition is valued at $1.4 million in cash, with AmeriCare retaining its accounts receivable. AmeriCare’s annualized net pediatric revenue totals approximately $2.7 million, and is being acquired in whole by PSA. The anticipated closing date of the transaction is January 2007.
PSA pursued the acquisition to enhance its presence in the Massachusetts market, says Daniel Kohl, president and CEO of PSA. “We’ll continue to evaluate a number of opportunities available in attractive markets and remain focused on executing our acquisition strategy within the private duty nursing segment,” said Kohl.
