Micross Components, Inc. of Florida has purchased KCB Solutions of Shirley, which makes radio frequency semiconductors for military and space applications.
Financial details were not disclosed in the Wednesday announcement of the deal, nor did Micross mention what would happen with KCB’s employees or leadership. The company said it could not provide any more information than what was in the press release.
Founded in 2003, KCB was a privately held company part of the investment portfolio of Artemis Capital Partners in Boston. The company makes radio frequency and microwave switches, attenuators, amplifiers, multi-chip and functional modules for space, aerospace, and defense products.
"We are excited to join the Micross team and expanding the range of product offerings enabled by our combined capabilities,” KCB President and CEO Ralph Nilsson said in the Wednesday announcement.
Nilsson told WBJ that KCB Solutions will continue to do business and that none of its employees will be let go. "We're looking to grow our facility," Nilsson said. "[Micross] is looking to grow our business. They're investing in growth."
Micross manufactures microelectronic components for the aerospace and defense, space, medical, industrial and commercial markets. In February 2020, Micross combined with Salem, New Hampshire microelectronic manufacturer Corfin Industries LLC., which provides parts for circuit board manufacturing.
