Shaw’s Supermarkets opened its 154th store last week, a 41,000-square foot space in Hudson.
The opening comes just about three months after Hannaford closed its store in the same location in May. Shaw’s announced in July it would be filling the vacant space.
It took about a month for necessary renovations and employees to be hired.
Hannaford’s lease was up at the end of May, and the company opted to close and focus on other nearby stores, a spokesman said around the time of the closing.
Shaw’s will join Petco, Papa Gino’s, Boost Fitness, Autozone, Dollar Tree, GameStop and other smaller shops in the plaza on Washington Street.
The company has held six store grand re-openings this year, including at stores in Milford, Northbridge, Norwood and Braintree.
