A 57,000-square-foot building on Gold Star Boulevard in Worcester that Seven Hills Foundation has leased will be used as a new behavioral health center, the Worcester human services nonprofit said Monday.
The new center, called Seven Hills Child & Family Behavioral Health, will offer both traditional in-person services and through telehealth, a remote way of providing services made necessary by the coronavirus pandemic and now reimbursed for health insurance at the same rate as face-to-face appointments. Gov. Charlie Baker signed a new insurance law mandating new reimbursement rates on Jan. 1.
Seven Hills said it expects to open the new center at 135 Gold Star Blvd. in March. The building will be the main location for behavioral health operations for three Seven Hills affiliates that until now have been scattered: YOU, Inc., Children’s Friend, and Family Services of Central Massachusetts. A range of programs operated by those affiliates will be based there, including home-based therapy, foster care and other community programs.
The Gold Star Boulevard building has been renovated since Reliant Medical Group used the space for medical offices before leaving more than two years ago. K+L Worcester LLC, which is registered to Worcester businessman George Tonna, bought the site in 2019 for nearly $2.6 million.
