The Worcester health and human services nonprofit Seven Hills Foundation has received nearly $77,000 from the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office to help its clients with employment and legal help.
The grants announced Tuesday include $40,000 for the foundation's Family Services of Central Massachusetts and $36,500 for its ASPiRE! program.
Family Services of Central Massachusetts provides legal and other guidance and counseling services to those in need. Its funding will go toward face-to-face mediation services across the Worcester area, including for small-claims cases. The program is approved to work in area probate, juvenile, superior and housing courts.
The ASPiRE! program offers occupational and rehabilitation services across Central Massachusetts assisting individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving independence, self-sufficiency and quality of life. The program will use its funds to give 30 clients in Devens, Milford or Worcester 20 to 30 hours of paid internship opportunities, including staff coaching support for participants
