Seven of the 11 hospitals in Central Massachusetts had four-year readmissions rates lower than the state average, according to new data released Wednesday from the state Center for Health Information and Analysis.
UMass Memorial – Clinton Hospital, UMass Memorial – Marlborough Hospital, Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer, and UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester all had readmissions rates that were above the state average of 15.8 percent, according to CHIA. Clinton Hospital is in the process of merging with UMass Memorial – HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster.
The data highlights a hospital’s readmission rate between 2011 and 2015. The full report breaks the data down by age, type of insurance, discharge setting, geographic region, and in comparison to similar acute care hospitals.
