The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has renewed a contract with Milford-based SeraCare Life Sciences worth up to $17.6 million over five years.
The contract gives SeraCare responsibility for acquiring, storing and distributing biospecimens to scientists for research on blood, cardiovascular and respiratory disorders. The company’s previous contract with the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the NIH expired April 30.
The contract will be worth $17.6 million over five years if the institute exercises all its options.
